The Principal

Allan Mason – Chartered Accountant
Allan has 29 years experience as a Chartered Accountant and nearly 15 years in financial services and non-accounting based businesses (sometimes concurrently). He was a principal in the firm Walker Williams Mason at Manly, NSW (now Charter Group) then had his own firm, Allan Mason & Associates in Chatswood, NSW. He has since established Broadview Accounting on the NSW Central Coast.

During extensive his business life Allan has owned, established or been involved with the following businesses, in addition to running an accounting practice:

• Finance company
• Commercial piggery
• Dog and cat boarding kennels
• Agricultural plantations (olives, tea tree, pine, soya bean, ginseng)
• Saw mill
• Financial services company – holding three financial services licences from ASIC
• Bio-botanicals company
• Property developments
• Public company ASX listing
• Prospectus and product disclosure documents preparation.

Allan knows from experience and education what it takes to run a business. It is not always a bed of roses, but takes dedicated effort, working smart and hard work. Although it can be profitable and is certainly exciting.
In 2006, he moved to the NSW Central Coast and built a house at Wamberal, after a short break from the hectic business world.
Allan is a published author having written three books and numerous articles on business.

His qualifications include:

• Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology (with Credit) in 1978
• Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA)
• Practicing Certificate with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
• Fellow of the Society of Certified Practising Accountants (FCPA) since resigned
• Registered Tax Agent since 1976
• Registered Company Auditor since 1982
• Justice of the Peace

• Implementing a strategy of success
• Setting policy, management by statistics
• Designing an organising board that clearly sets out the staff functions and positions in the organisation
• Deciding on and agreeing to, what the valuable final product for each section and division.
